The grey of sacred ash.
A grey for the six a.m. class, when the studio is half dark and everyone is still waking up. Vibhuti means sacred ash, and the shade carries that kind of quiet. It still looks right on the street at noon, so you teach in it and then keep living in it.
The cloth is half linen and half cotton, with nothing else in the weave. It stays cool when the room heats up and soft where linen alone would be crisp. It also wrinkles less than pure linen, which matters if it lives folded in a bag between classes.
Fit & feel
50-50 linen-cotton. Relaxed kurta cut with a clean placket and a straight fall. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
At the heart of our Dharma is Aparigraha, non-excess. Making each garment to order is how we practice it. Nothing is overproduced. Nothing waits in storage. Thank you for practicing it with us.
