Barely there, on purpose.
The kurta for the class where the room is warm before anyone arrives. Sheer white cotton that barely touches you, cut loose through the body and long through the hem, the way India has always cut them. In sun it glows; in shade it settles.
You can see light through this cloth. That's the point: it's cotton spun so fine that Lucknow's finest embroiderers save it for their best work, and on skin it feels close to silk. Wear it over bare skin for practice. Add a slip underneath when you want more cover.
Fit & feel
Swiss voile, 100% cotton. Relaxed through the shoulders, with a straight fall and side vents. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry. Even the white is dyed: a subtle natural dye, applied by hand in small batches.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
