Wet henna green, featherweight.
Mehndi means henna, and this is the green of the wet paste, fresh on skin. In a heated room these are the pants you forget you're wearing. The dhoti cut, the draped trouser India has worn for centuries, moves a beat after you do.
The cotton is spun so fine that Lucknow's best embroiderers save it for their finest work. It weighs almost nothing on the skin and breathes the way only fine cotton can.
Fit & feel
Structured dhoti silhouette in a fabric light enough to read slightly sheer in strong light. That's the fabric being honest about its weight. An elastic waist, nothing to cinch or tie. Good for practice, better for hot days. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
