Our palest set. One dye lot.
The palest set we make: white with a breath of yellow, like the garland flowers it's named for. At a shade this faint, even a small difference between top and pants would show across a room. There is none, because both pieces came out of the same vat on the same day.
This cotton is spun so fine that Lucknow's finest embroiderers reserve it for their best work. It sits on the skin like almost nothing and breathes the whole class through. It's sheer by design; wear it over bare skin for practice, or layer a slip beneath for more cover.
Fit & feel
The kurta wears relaxed and falls straight. An elastic waist holds the pants. The cloth is Swiss voile, and everything softens with washing. Cold wash, shade dry. As a set it's $10 less than the pieces bought apart.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
At the heart of our Dharma is Aparigraha, non-excess. Making each garment to order is how we practice it. Nothing is overproduced. Nothing waits in storage. Thank you for practicing it with us.
