A sadhu's rust, cut to move.
Kesariya means saffron-colored, the shade of a wandering sadhu's robes. Ninety minutes of demonstrating in a warm room and this cloth has barely touched you. When you step forward, the dhoti cut swings clear of the knee.
Cotton spun so fine that Lucknow's finest embroiderers keep it for their best work. Air moves straight through it, which is the whole point in a hot room. In direct sun it turns lightly sheer; wear it bare for practice or layered when you want more cover.
Fit & feel
Pleated dhoti cut, airy through the leg. Grounded enough for standing practice, loose enough for sitting still. The elastic waist stays put on its own. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
