Kesariya means saffron-colored. This is the deep saffron-rust ascetics in India have worn for centuries, and standing in front of a class in it says something before you speak. The cut stays generous so your body has room to move and breathe.
The deep dye doesn't change what the cloth is: sheer and light, made to move with air. Under the color is cotton spun so fine that Lucknow's finest embroiderers reserve it for their best pieces. Wear it bare for practice, or add a layer when you want more cover.
Fit & feel
Swiss voile, 100% cotton. Relaxed kurta cut, generous through the body. Straight fall. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
