Tulsi means holy basil, and the color sits where the plant grows: the quiet beige of a dried riverbed. Cut in the dhoti style, the draped trouser India has worn for centuries, these fall around your legs instead of holding them. You can drop to the floor and come back to standing without once thinking about what you're wearing.
Half linen, half cotton, nothing else. Cool the way linen is cool, soft the way cotton is soft. It wrinkles less than pure linen, so it survives the drive to the studio.
Fit & feel
Loose dhoti silhouette that folds around the leg rather than gripping it. An elastic waist holds it all without effort. Made for practice and for slow days at home. Softens with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
At the heart of our Dharma is Aparigraha, non-excess. Making each garment to order is how we practice it. Nothing is overproduced. Nothing waits in storage. Thank you for practicing it with us.
