Ash grey, moving quietly.
Vibhuti is the sacred ash worn on the forehead in devotion, and this is that exact grey. It's a color that holds still at the front of a room and lets the teaching speak. The dhoti cut drapes when you sit and clears your knee when you step into a lunge.
Half linen, half cotton, nothing else. The weave stays cool through a ninety-minute class and drapes with a low shine. It holds fewer wrinkles than pure linen.
Fit & feel
Pleated through the front, loose through the leg. A soft elastic waistband holds without pinching. Wear them to practice or wear them to do nothing at all. They soften with every wash. Cold wash, shade dry.
Fine Swiss voile cotton or a 50-50 linen-cotton weave, depending on the piece. All natural fibre, light enough to move with the air. It softens with every wash.
Hand-dyed with natural dyes in small batches. Shades vary a little from lot to lot. We think that's the point.
Three people make everything we sell. Two stitch by hand. One runs the dye vats. We don't hold a warehouse: your piece is cut, stitched, and finished after you order it, and reaches you in about four weeks.
At the heart of our Dharma is Aparigraha, non-excess. Making each garment to order is how we practice it. Nothing is overproduced. Nothing waits in storage. Thank you for practicing it with us.
